A Cappella is both a hobby and a profession drawing from all musical genres and performed in various styles; we are a vibrant "community" that includes doo wop, vocal bands, barbershop, vocal jazz, classical, and folk/world.  This webmaster is partial to vocal jazz.  Could modern a cappella be a brand new form of creative expression for the whole human race?

Here is a sampling of both pro and amateur groups, including friends of Kalliope (FOK?).  Also included are musical organizations and festivals. If you've enjoyed this website, let us know.  And, thanks for stopping by!

Groups (a world tour!)
  • Rajaton
Septet from Finland - very original music - they sing all styles and resonate classical tones. A cappella, of course!
  • Cadence
A Canadien pro mens group known for out-of-this world harmonics. Bassman Kevin Fox recently left for the Swingle Singers.
  • The Real Group
Renowned the world over, this vocal jazz quintet is from Sweden - original stuff and a happy sound that just draws you in.
  • MaxQ
The 2007 BHS International Champions bring superior musicality to barbershop, but look closer (hint: children); they are so much more!
  • br6
A cappella from Brazil - professional vocal jazz with incredible rhythms and arrangements.
  • Key of She
They sing in a very, very cool key. Great vocals, drool factor and sound that is well-known here on the east coast.
  • Denver A Cappella Project
Got a great thing goin' on. Friends of Joan and Don, appeared on the World Harmony Jamboree.
  • The Swingle Singers
England's finest is still setting a world standard for a cappella singing and arranging.
  • Greater Harrisburg Chorus
Camille is one of the keys to success for this outstanding Region 19 Sweet Adeline chorus.
  • Toxic Audio
Think human jukebox - Toxic Audio's recordings have won many awards and their shows are even more incredible.
  • A Cappella Pops
Joan sings soprano here - an auditioned SATB a cappella show chorus in the Philadelphia area.
  • The Idea of North
We saw them at the Harmony Sweeps, which they won, and they blew us away. A Kalliope favorite.
  • Voice Trek
Is Minnesota that cool? This group was born to sing vocal jazz.
  • The Honeymooners
The Honeymooners are a very entertaining mixed quartet from New Hampshire; good people, and funny too!
  • Rockapella
They put a cappella into everyone's living room and their originality still sets the standard for all vocal bands.
